7.3to6.9 swap

will the sepentine belt system on my 7.3 fit on 6.9? what if any changes do i need to make? thanks for any info.

yes if one serpentine belt breaks you better be able to fix it, but if one of th three or four on my truck breaks i might be able to limp home?:dunno

On the other hand, if you only have one belt, you only have to carry one spare.

And a serp belt is much easier to change than V belts.

Check the rotation of the water pump, many serp belt water pumps are reverse rotation which means the impellers turn the opposite direction.

on a side note i believe that the serp belts are much more efficient cutting down on the parasitic drag that the v-belts have when they rub going in and out of the valley of the pulley.

Anything on the IDI externally of the long block will bolt on. 6.9/7.3 Ford or IH S-series. these motors were designed with that flexibility in mind.
