Finally got my engine on my stand down to bare block and off the stand.

But before I did I though some may have a good all at the same time at what I saw....

Main bearings....ugh

I'd post the pics of the rod bearings but ya'll would just cry.....

So that's what was supposedly a GOOD engine....ROFL.

Now I'll be throwing up my Factory Turbo block next! WOO HOO!

Absolutely unknown reman in a tow truck and the owner and I swapped it out for a PS and then he sold the truck.

Tow truck? Well I think that explains it right there lol. Those bearings have been exposed to lots of load, heat, and infrequent oil changes from the looks of them.

Those bearing look terrible. Looks like a lot of dirt swimmin around in there. Hows the crank look?

The improved cam gear doesn't have the threaded puller holes.

Sorry Al.. Thats the gear that has no balance lug on it and as posted. The better gear has no holes to pull it with. the better gear requires the gear puller arms be turened out to grasp the gear thru the holes ... I see the second cylinder thats been sleeved has very littl old cylinder left at the bottom. Is that just the way the camers took the pic. There should be about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch left of the original cylinder so the neew sleeve has something to land on. Many years ago a member here showed his block that was sleeved of all 8 cylinders. He was able to break off the bottom of the ols sleeves by hand.... So that block was junk. Nothine left to hold the sleeves from dropping down and contacting the spinning crank... Sad end of a block.
