Made it home today. Truck ran great, got 12mpg dragging the trailer full of all my tools and equipment. The trans now sounds horrible, with a vibration at 2300rpm in 5th gear. I have no idea if I messed up the pilot bearing when I stabbed the trans, or if i have another issue. Anyone want to see this video and chime in, comments are welcome...

ryan-
i wouldn't be so fast to condemn the trans so quick. otoh, there has been documented incidents where the pressure plate was not drilled concentrically. Heath was the recipient of one of those. along with a very odd wear pattern on the pressure plate fingers and the TOB, the "camming" of the pressure plate is very obvious with the motor running. this is the reason why I still run the DMF and scrounge for usable DMF's any chance I get. firstly, I hate the rollover noise and secondly, there's nothing worse than having to pull apart the trans again due to a poorly machined part.
just my .02......
oh btw, since we're showing off our co-pilots, here's one of my daughter from years ago. if to take a look at the reflection in the windshield, you will see her toy towtrucks on the dash too.
He drilled some holes in the flywheel to get it where it should have been out of the box.
I really really hope this was not a "customer" of yours....
