I am about to restore a 1941 Ford 1/2 ton and it has no drivetrain. I was wondering if it would be possible to swap in a 6.9 IDI engine and drivetrain. I have a used 6.9 IDI from my old 1984 F250. I would wonder about engine and transmission fit and frame/suspension ability to hold it as well as rear end diff fit. Anyone heard of the possibility of such a crazy notion? I have seen small block ford and chevies in this early model 1/2 tons.

You might have an issue with the steering column clearance on the exhaust manifold. Its been a while since I looked at one, but its tight.

Anything is possible if you have the time, patience, know how, and of course the right tools lol. If you do decide to tackle this keep us updated with new info and of course pics!
