Im new to the site . I am about to gasket ( heads, oil pan , intake , etc. ) and stud my turbo 6.9 before I install it in my 1978 f250 4wd Super Cab . I've been searching the site for an opinion on the available gasket kits for the 6.9 . Seems that VR was the way to go but all that I can find is Mahle gasket kits . Anyone have problems with the Mahle gasket kits ? Btw , this site is the best

Welcome. We try to give the best advice out there. DON'T use a gasket on your oil pan. It will eventually leak. Just use a bead of RTV like the factory did and you'll be good for a long time. Both Northern Auto parts and Rock Auto list a Sealed Power full gasket set. I don't know what brand of gaskets this set would use. For what it's worth, Fel-Pro head gaskets are .010 thicker than the Victor Reinz. If there's any doubts on wether or not you'll have enough valve to piston clearance, use the Fel-Pros. I also believe that the Mahle kits use Victor Reinz gaskets.
