My dad is using my 88 for a few days because his is down. he filled it up today and said it got 27 mpg! most was interstate, some regular highway running 65 mph. im very impressed! go go IDI! lol

that is with 3:55 gearing, 35" tires, 140,000 miles, 5 speed RCLB custom F-350.

I think your padre messed his math up a skosh.....I cant imagine one getting that at those speeds. Maybe if he was going like 50mph (like 1500rpm's)....but aerodynamics is working against him LOL. Maybe though :dunno

previous fill ups were 20, 21 and 20. 198 miles / 7.181 gallons. its always used roughly the same fuel for given range on the fuel guage, half a tank is around 8 gallons and this was a hair above half a tank. i always wait till it stops bubblin and keep going until its up in the filler neck where i can see. i will say the 27 seems high, im gunna say it should be 23 or 24...still impressive. it will dip down to 17 when im really playing hot rod around town stop to stop so i can hear the pipes LOL.

speedo was corrected for the tires and is accurate (10 miles on the highway = 10 miles on the ODO).

You can't get accurate MPG figures in one fillup. I don't figure it accurate until at least 5 fillups are averaged.

Mine was three tankfuls on a round trip to DE and back. The truck usually averages 20+ on that trip. It really seemed to like the wmo. I was impressed to see a difference on a trip that the truck has done dozens of times when one change was made. Yeah, it seems far-fetched. I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't me either :D

I'm not going to say it's impossible. Low to mid 20's is very believeable under the right conditions. However, trying to get that milage in Anthracite territory would be very challenging indeed! He must have filled up at the top of the hill and refilled at the bottom. LOL

Shoot I have a hard enough time just getting 15mpg, but that's on B100 in town with a T18, still better than the C6 though.

20 mpg again today and that was runnin 901 down to 183 (lots of hills) into Reading...not to bad i think!

when i drive i usually get 16 or 17 but i keep it on the govener :-D

i love this truck, has plenty of power being N/A and in third (which seems to be the speed gear) i can get up to 75 bouncin off redline. i dont even know if i wanna turbo it...it runs so good.

i dont think 27 was 100% accurate, as i said before...that number is closer to 23-24. which works out close to the 20 on the hilly backroads.
