2 new problems

ok i have a 1992 f250 and have run into a few problems.the first is that the fuel guage was working on both tanks and today it started reading empty on both.when u turn the key off it will actually start to come up toward a quarter tank.second problem is the dummy light for the charging system (small battery symbol in dash)is staying on all the time.any ideas on what could be causing these problems would be greatly appreciated

the voltage is 14 to 14.3 and it could possibly be the switch but it has been working fine since i bought it and it just quit when i turned in my driveway.i guess i have to expect little things though as i only gave 1500.00 and it was running

Most likely the fuel selector valve. The dash switch has nothing to do with the fuel gauge wiring.
