1999 F350 TS 6 POS chip

Someone gave me a 6pos chip.
Not sure of the year tho...

I installed it and it started..
1 stock
2 high idle
3 better performance more boost
4 black smoke
5 lots of black smoke

Shifts different, seems soft...

Is this ok to run?

It's really not okay to throw a random chip into your truck.
You need to send it in to have the correct tunes for your pcm put on it.

good question and good following answer. i saw the same chip on local CL the other day i thought about buying, but i figured i needed to get mine running correctly before doing any "chipping", i didnt think about the programming being specific.

Is TS decent to have reprogram it?

I checked before, TS $50, Gearhead $350

Have to double check, but I believe ts is bad on the trans. Tony Wildman has better trans tuning.
Gear head is good from what I hear.
Even power hungry performance can probably tune it. (This is who I run)
