1994 F250 ext cab IDIT 3.55 vs 4.10

It has 3:55 gearing , an e4od
and I plan to run a 35 inch tire . I'm wondering if anyone has a similar setup as I would like to know how well it will pull decent size grades . I won't be towing anything super heavy , but I want to be able to power up hills at a reasonable speed .

The reason I am asking is because I have a truck with 4:10's and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to swap them . I live in Oregon and am planning a trip to Arkansas in 2 months so I need a good freeway speed/rpm/power ratio .

I have to sell one of my trucks and the 3:55 gears and 35" tires of the 93 are really nice on the freeway, and probably the biggest selling point of that truck for me.

I think it's running a true 60 mph at about 1800 rpm. Basically it's 4th gear would give me 200 more rpm than my 4:10 truck with 32s gives me in 5th so it makes a good highway heavy tow gear.

An auto is different though. I am major anti E4od. I had one and couldn't sell the truck quick enough. But the thing is that those gears and 35s are gonna be the hardest on the tranny.

E4od has a pretty tall overdrive, I would go atleast 4.1 with 35s. My truck is e4od 4.11 on stock tires, and I have considered going 4.56 or better several times for towing.

Darn , I really don't have the energy or drive for the swap .. pretty burnt out on this truck at the moment .. Would a 33" tire make much of a difference?

3.5 gears are no good with big tires, or towing, and even worse doing both.

I didn't think a 35" tire was considered big for a turbo diesel I'm use to running at least a 40" tire ,lol . Oh well , glad I asked
