Goofyexponent
Mentally Unstable..
Over the past two months, my E4)D in my F250 has been acting up when it wants to...unprovoked.
Everytime it did it, I would check the connetions, check the fluid and temperature for signs of problems. I NEVER found anything unusual.
Eventually I changed the FIPL with another used one, and had the same results. I adjusted the voltage to 1.2 at idle to 3.8 at WOT. I should point out that this is the early "black" FIPL and not the later "grey" FIPL sender. Apparently the black ones had a higher failure rate than the grey ones.
I cleaned the engine harness pins inside the plug, and applied grease to keep moisture out. This didn't seem to help much.
I don't know why it keeps popping into limp mode, but I have noticed a pattern. It only pops into limp mode while climbing the only hill on the way to work at 100 KM/H. 1/3 - 1/2 of the way up it will pop into limp mode and stay there, but occasionally it comes back out of it on it's own. Sometimes I go 20 kilometers before it goes into limp mode, and other times I can go 200 kilometers before I go into limp mode. But it is usually a hill that triggers it.
I want to have it plugged in, but lately I am working from 3am until 6 or 7pm, 6 days a week. Combined with the fact that I don't get a paycheck for a month because I went from working under the table to back on the payroll for the season, which hurts. Good news is I get an $1800 paycheck on Saturday, and then one every two weeks agter that!
Any thoughts or similar happenings out there?
