Does anyone know what the capacity of each tank in a dual tank 1989 E-350 might be?

I'm looking at one and it has dual tanks, but the person selling it just knows " it don't run and it needs to go now! "

I have an ‘88 e250 with duel tanks. If I remember correctly the front one is 16 and the rear one is 22.

That's about what I was thinking, but it could have been some aberation with like dual 40 gallon tanks [emoji1745]

Who knows. At one point I had the wild idea of using one of the huge midship tanks on mine and then upgrading the rear to a 38 gallon. It would have given me something like 75 gallon capacity......but then I realized it made no since to do it because on road trips my bladder wouldn’t hold out for that many miles.

I'm kinda toying with something like that, but I'm not worried about the bladder issue because I'm more concerned about being stranded in the middle of nowhere with no possibility of fuel for hundreds of miles; I'm willing to *** on the side of the road, but being stranded sounds some order of magnitude less than fun [emoji1787]

True. I currently have a range in the 500 to 600 mile range if I am not towing. Pulling my trailer it is about 350-400.

With the fuel capacity I was thinking range would have been in the 1100-1200 mile range.

I'm kinda looking at even more fuel, at the expense of cargo space, but as a van for people to take on road trips, I'm OK with that

That would be the only place that could possibly fit. And you'd have to have the E350 to have enough frame height to make this work.

My 85 "incomplete" E350 seems to have an 18 front, unknown rear (haven't used it yet)

The E350 fuel gauge reads pretty much exactly like my 87 F250, at half a tank, it takes about 9 gallons. At a bit above the 1/4 tank mark, it takes 12-13 gallons. The math adds up to 18 if the gauge is to be believed.

Pretty sure I was told here that the 87 f250's front tank is 18 and I trust it's gauge. I have no reason not to believe the 85 E350's.

you can try and move crossmembers around and use a E350 Cube or motorhoem rear tank in there , they are around 40 gallons. I fit one into my 83 F150 shorty 4x4 but it had a 3" body lift . it worked great with my 6.9 4spd, i just deleted the front tank and dual tank switch.
