new member, but I am familiar with diesels, I own 4.
I have a 1989 7.3 idi f-superduty (F450?) service truck that has been sitting since 1997. I am helping to get it running to sell. it only has 13000 orig miles. And it has sat in a garage since that time.
I am getting some fuel pressure; I rigged up a fuel pressure set up. My initial test I had pressure, but my gauge wouldn't register it. M guess is that the fuel pump is bad, But i need to confirm. I am getting some fuel to the fuel filter, its' old.
The glow plugs work as they are supposed too.
Questions:
1. can I bypass the FS by putting 12v to the terminal? (it just am trying to hear it click open)
2. what is the correct fuel pressure at the Schrader valve? ( I found multiple numbers)
TIA,
NT
