Yep. I think you got lucky. I've also learned something from this. I believe that the transfer case shifter that I'm going to be putting my Ex Wife truck (to have 2 lo for backing trailers) is probably the same type of set up since it's coming out of a 1988. I'll be sure to put Lock Tite on those bolts so I won't have the same thing happen.
