1985 6.9 IH bad sound from exhaust and intake.

Never pay any attention to idle timing on any meter or timing light. You MUST rev to 2000 rpm to see correct timing. Please call Conestoga Diesel and ask why. This topic has come up more than any other timing issue. Also please fix your J33300 meter. the BEST EASIEST way to time is with the clamp and the magnetic probe method and its named PULSE method of timing. the Kent Moore meters have a micro processor in them that tells you timing and rpm with those two probes connected. Can't get any easier than that.

Where would I send the timing meter to? The clamp that you put on the fuel line works but the pickup that you put on the crank does not. I have 2 J33300 timing meters. They both have the same problem.
