I've taken an 093 turbo'd engine to a local shop that has a owner that
likes a challenge. He has bent up a crossover pipe w/flanges that fits
nicely.

Thought I'd offer this to anyone while the engine is there. The first was
done in two pieces that that were welded while bolted to the 7.3, the
second he is going to try to do in one piece.

The engine will be there until the 12th unless there is demand which
will keep it there until all pipes are done.

Either way let me know.

THis is a wonderful op for a few.

How much would these xovers cost?
What diameter of tubing is used?
What type of tubing?

Heck even a two piece one that would be more compact for shipping...

Can he increase the tube size from stock and such?

Again thanks for this it's awesome!

Im also interested the material type, the flanges are the biggest reason for a two piece pipe, since I have all these up pipes and no crossovers my 2 exhaust guys are willing to do a 2 piece with a long slip fit that will be under the engine. Most folks will have to reuse the flanges off the original pipes. option 2 is a one piece that has new flat style flanges but I like the originals best. and of course they arent available.

I will know cost in a couple days once he has tried a one piece and he knows
how many copies will be made.

The diameter is the same as stock. Whereas the stock piece is formed hot (so
I understand) and diameter is very constant these have a slight narrowing from
the bending process. However as is evident with the powerstroke a narrower
pipe (1.5" or 1.75") to promote velocity is a better route than larger.

It is heavy wall steel. We considered S.S. but he felt the steel would form
much better and I thought that most of us would coat or paint anyway.

The flanges are the new flat type.

Also as one could imagine each one of these may be minutely different than
another (they are hand made) they will fit and function as intended. That is
also why the two piece may be the best way if everyone can get it welded.
Or just clamp it.

Update. The pipe he is using is .077 thick. The cracked stock pipe it is replacing measures about .065.

The price would be $120 to $140 and will be a two piece unit w/the newer flat flanges.

I'm having him make one in 2" pipe that will be coated inside and out to see how that runs.

Engine will be at the shop for a little longer if there is any interest.

seems to me that 2 piece would come in handy for doing things where you might have to pull the tranny or a few other things . As many times as I've seen folks take a hacksaw to that sucker and weld it back up when they are done... Just a thought.
