It was my understanding you could run a blow off valve as a boost regulator in a way. But i guess that might cause an over speed situation for the turbo. I appreciate the info wes.

You should be fine without a wastegate with the larger housing, and diesels don’t need blow off valves since our intakes are always open, unlike a gasser which has a throttle body
throttle plate ;)

Yeah you’d be better off just spinning the turbo slower and have it compress cooler air than if it was spinning faster and further from its efficiency range
