i have used this program many times on the truck. the computer is on battery power and not the cigarette lighter. i use the program almost daily on my lincoln ls....lol. It just won't even reconize the truck/ says unable to connect.
went to connect my lap top to my truck to run my autoenginuity program and it won't connect to the truck. there is nothing wrong with the program as i can plug it into one of my other fords and it works fine. i have used it on this truck before with out any problems. any ideas? do you think the...
don't buy one from a dealer, go here http://autocomputerexchange.com/
they are a lot cheaper. same for IDM's. dealer quoted me a price of $1200. Got one from tthem and paid $250 with a lifetime warranty
I don't think any codes will pop up for the IDM. the way I found out mine was done for, was to do an injector buzz test. when nothing buzzed I figured it was that.
need a scanner. or just pull it off the fender and shake it. it's not scientific, but you'll know if it is full of water. happens to alot of them because of where it's mounted. water is not kind to electronics.
go on e-bay for an idm. found a company that remans them out of florida. I think the name was autocomputer exchange .com bought one for $225 with a life time warranty. my old one filled up with water.
are these things suppose to be filled with water? LOL Found a site that does rebuilt with warranty for $250. here's the link

resevoir is full, no smoke. cranks but no hint of any sputtering. sounds like when you crank the truck with the key off. when I did the buzz test it came up all injectors have high side open.
a month ago I was driving my truck when it started to lose power. it would not rev over 1600 rpms.I make it back to the garage shut it off and has never started again. the fuel pump has been in question for some time so i replaced it along with the filter. I also replaced the crank sensor, icp...
tranny was rebuilt last febuary. they said they did all the updates but who knows.when i put it in reverse it immediatly takes off, no clutching effect.if i hold it with the brakes it boggs the truck down to the point it almost stalls. After forty seconds or so it sometimes lets off and acts...
I have about 7000 mi. on a rebuilt auto.my problem is it feels like the torque converter is locking up the minute I put it in reverse. feels like when you let the clutch out on a standard. driving me CRAZY!!! cookoo the tranny is out of warranty. what controls the torque converter to lock up? is...
cleaned the screen about 1000 miles ago. fuel pump has about 30,000mi. how much boost should you have? keep in mind this truck is all original. injectors and turbo.
my 97 f350 seem to be lacking in the power department. it struggles to pull 7000 pounds at highway speeds 60-65 mph. turbo holds about 5psi of boost at this speed. engine rpm is about 2300. truck is bone stock except for the tymar intake. fuel filter changed every 3000 along with oil. fuel...
