I gambled and put in a new gear reduction starter and it turns over great. I was in the middle of setting the IP timing and I turned of the truck and noticed a large puddle and coolant forming on the floor. It looked like it was coming from the thermostat housing area. So after removing all of...
It sounds like the starter is getting power becaues it give a good click when you have your head down there and get someone to hit the key.
Is it normal that the starter teeth don't pull all the wat out of the ring gear?
I just finished putting in the engine and rebuilt C-6 and I can't get the starter to crank over? It was working when I took the truck apart 1 1/2 years ago. All the starter will do is click. I have 2 new batteries in the truck that I let charge overnight, all electrical connections have been...
I'm not sure what the real name is. The plate is only about a 1/8 thick or so and if the engine and tran is suppose to have one and you don't put it in you will likely take the pump out of the transmission. When I got me truck there was not one there but the transmission was also done. I don't...
I've done some searching and have not come up with a clear answer if there even should be one there. Just to be clear its not the thick adaptor or the thin plate for the flywheel.
Dose a 6.9 and a C6 need a thin 1/8 spacer plate between thm like the gaser use. I just had my transmission rebulit and its about to go back in and there was not one there when I pulled it a part but I don't trust anything the previos owner did. He had lots of thing not right.
Thanks
I just took my T-case apart to have a look before it goes back in the truck and I found that the bracket that holds the oil pump was half broken. Maybe yours is not pumping oil anymore to the top bearings?
I never thought of a second rad I was thinking the coolant would be cool enough after it went thru the main rad. The cooler I have is for the new 6.7 PSD it should be very efficient for my old low boost 6.9
I was given a new water to air inter cooler that I would like to try and use on my bronco. I have a non gated Banks turbo and Mel has just put my Moose pump in the mail to send back to me. The cooler has a air inlet and outlet just like other inter cooler but it also has a water inlet and...

I ordered 3 new glow plugs and went to pick them up today and they were the wrong ones. They were the blade style for a 6.9 (Beru 0 100 271 102)
The ones that I took out are Beru 0 100 271 101
Can anyone help me and tell me what year those plugs are for so I can order the correct ones...
Would anyone have a part # for the valley pan grommet that you can buy thru McMaster Carr.
I think I have seen it on here before but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks
I'm ready to put the heads back on this weekend and I know you have to go thru the many cycles of torquing the heads to breaking the studs and nuts. But my question is do you have to torque the studs into the block or just run them down to bottom?
Also what do you torque the rockers down to...
I have the engine out to do the head gaskets and install studs so I thought I would take a look at the rear main seal. I took the plate off and noticed there as been a sleeve kit installed already. The seal is not leaking but there is a small grove in the sleeve. Is it worth changing out or will...
My Rockers do have the joining plate on them so I will order a new set for a 7.3. Should I replace all the push rods since I will putting new rockers on or is that just a waist of money. Sounds like I should replace the springs while I'm at it too.
I have the engine out and just pulled the heads. I'm putting in ARP studs and new gaskets in preparation for a turbo. Not knowing the history of the engine I have noticed that the pistons are stamped .020" so I take it the engine has been rebuilt so I think I'm not going to bother to change the...
For some reason the Canadian gallon is .5 liter larger then the U.S. gallon. So if you using Canadian gallon to figer out MPG it will seem like your getting great fuel milage in comparison.
