1984 F-250 3/4 ton SuperCab 6.9l Turbo Diesel 4x4 with a two tank WVO (Vegetable Oil Conversion), operational but currently disabled. We use both tanks as diesel tanks.
This truck was my baby, used to drive it back and forth from my place in Idaho with never a problem...
No matter what she starts on a dime. -20f? Hasn't been started in 6 months? First compression stroke. Damn I love my IDI.
I don't take it out much these days, just sits in the yard under the pine tree...but I'll be damned if it's not the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned - we'll forget...
It's been a while since I posted. Guess ye' olde 1984 6.9 just doesn't cause any trouble! It starts on a dime in the dead of winter, it purrs like a kitten when idling and generally is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. (of course we'll all forget that debacle on the the first road...
Since my FASS fuel pump is pushing 16psi into a system that expects 4-7psi I was thinking of putting in an FPR to bring it down to spec and not frak with my IP's timing.
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a fuel pressure regulator for our trucks...
I have a full exhaust for a 6.9 IDI, no rust in really good shape. Yours if you'll drive up here to grab it.

I'd offer it on CL but some mad max type scrapper will show up and toss it in his scrap heap.
Here is a message I posted earlier on the Frybrid forum. I realize many of you don't care much about doing the WVO thing. I'm just hoping that someone could explain what could cause this behavior, regardless of the fuel used.
Ok. Just finished my v2.0 veggie conversion on my IDI - there was...
I seem to recall discussions about this in the past here, but cannot seem to find the correct keywords to feed the search engine to find them again, so here goes:
What effect would a pump that pushed say 15psi, vs the 5-7psi the stock lift pump does, have on an IDI fuel system?
I seem to...
Somewhere in the middle of the country I'd like to know. My IDI is a work truck and I could avoid pulling my trailer as much as I do if I had a flatbed on the beast.
So when you balance tires, would it not make sense to do it at full pressure?
I had a Discount Tire balance the winters for my wagon before installing them and it would seem that they balanced them at 20psi...
WTF?
Wish I had the cabbage to buy this baby!

This baby is begging for an ATS turbo and a WVO conversion!
I'm about to fully outfit the IDI for self-recovery - Hi-Lift, spare come alongs, chains, straps, shovel, etc.
Just wondering if anyone has an trick ideas on where to mount these.
I was thinking of just drilling through the front bumper and mounting the hi-lift there. I don't have thousands...
