    1992 7.3 IDI Project F250 140k, Rusty Body - Bardstown KY, $1,200

My 92 F250 has sat in front of my Dad's garage for long enough. I ran it all through college, set it up with a two tank veggie oil conversion, plenty of details in my posting history, but basically I went Hose-in-Hose from the in-tank heater, and then had the injection lines wrapped with...

    7.3 idi fuel filters

filter1.com Sells the WIX, which is the best for running SVO at least, not sure if WOM is any different. the 3417 costs $20, but with code MOPARTS it's 20% off, plus any order over $50 has free shipping. -N

Carier Lift Pump + 180F SVO = good idea?

I'm tired of my mechanical lift pump punking out on me going uphill - and I'd like to be able to prime filters by flipping a switch. That being said, does anyone know if the Carrier/Fact lift pump will handle hot SVO? I'd like to put it up under the hood instead of back on the tank, makes it a...

Plus combined shipping, so it really only makes sense if you grab a couple. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WIX-33417-Fuel-Filter-/390361538124?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5ae35c5e4c -N

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

Isn't the other way to do this to fill the filter with diesel kleen, let it run for 15-20 seconds to fill the IP, then let it sit overnight and the next day run it hard for 10-15 minutes?

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

Gotcha - just to stretch it further, or because it won't burn right and keep the engine running if there's not something burnable in there?

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

I've heard that the way to run diesel purge through an IP is to pull the line off the lift pump and off of the return lines and drop them both in a big jug of the stuff and let it run until it burns it all up - sound right?

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

I run SVO, and have to change my filters every 1500 miles, or when they get clogged up. The filter in it right now has less than 400 miles on it. Return lines were all done in the fall, as were filter lines, check valves, and damn near everything else, all the way back to the tanks, which I've...

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

I just changed the filter 400 miles before, and I've had some intrusion problems, so there might be air in the lines somewhere. The engine would start a bit hard, like it needed some goosing on the throttle, even when it was hot, and then if you let off the gas, it would just go out. I will...

Starting to stall at low idle - Injection pump?

Hey guys, I brought the truck back from Atlanta to Kentucky on Sunday, and around Chatty it started to stall if the rpms dropped below 1200 or so. I brought it the rest of the way up to Kentucky, and about 40% of the time it would stall when I had to stop, the other times it would just idle...

    TPS and Tach Sensor

On the tach - I pulled mine from a junkyard after my first one went out and they swapped right up. If I recall, it was a 93 into my 92. Does the spedometer/odometer work? Those three are fused together and will throw your tranny into limp mode when that one fuse blows.

Rattles a ton when starting cold

I've been informed that air intrusion can cause advances in timing - and since I've got a bit of a leak, which causes a bit of a zoom when it starts up - I'm thinking these are all related. I'll drop it in the shop over Christmas and see what I can find. I hate hunting for airleaks though!!

    having trouble with fuel fitting

I did the same thing when I couldn't get an olive for the steel line - works fine so far. I used hydraulic hose instead of fuel line, thought it might stand up to WVO a little better.

Rattles a ton when starting cold

I did all the return lines this summer fighting air intrusions then, they're brand new. Maybe it's just the way these IDIs are - it's real loud though. I've got to change the oil in the next couple hundred miles, I think I'll put some 5w-40 in and see if that quiets it down a bit.

Rattles a ton when starting cold

Also - I think I've got some air intrusion issues, it doesn't like to start up on the front tank, I think because it'll seep back. I need to chase those down over Christmas Break - does that change engine noise?

Rattles a ton when starting cold

Shadetree did it pretty roughly by ear for me in the summer - is that something damn near any shop can do correctly, or is there enough of an art for it to be worth seeking out somebody highly recommended?

Rattles a ton when starting cold

Just exactly what the title says - maybe 10-15 seconds of real hard rattling before it calms down, and then it steps down from high idle maybe 2 or 3 minutes later. Is that a normal diesel or is my timing off?

    90 7.3 fuel injection problems

Now - I don't know anything about stainless, I use aluminum, which is high, but workable and pretty easy to get ahold of. Can you even get 3/8" stainless to coil without kinking?

    90 7.3 fuel injection problems

We thought the same thing, so we used the biodiesel anti-algea and anti bacterial additives in our tanks and storage tanks and filtering tanks, nothing. No difference for my buddy, with copper pipes, no difference for me with aluminum pipes. You can try it yourself, just take a chunk of copper...

    90 7.3 fuel injection problems

How much diesel did you cut it with? Any chance of pumping half of the grease back out and cutting it 50+%? (As we jack this thread completely)
