I had adjusted my door strikers so that when the door latches and I pulled it out tight, the door was even with the cab. I could push it in a good bit. I put the door seals in and when the door latches, it sticks out 1/2".

Tearing my hair out here.

Sorry just needed to vent.

I always make the door flush with the rest of the body and then drive it to see if you have any wind noises. If you do, move the front edge in 1/8 inch and check it again. Lather, rinse, repeat. :D

Operator error as usual. The second catch wasn't quite latching. Slam it hard enough to get it to latch (which is pretty hard with the new seals) and a minor tweak lined it up.

It's hard to be stupid sometimes.

Glad you found the reason and fixed it.. Doord are not my friend. I had to replace both front door hinges with the spring tha holds the door open cause mine broke off. After fixing the drivers side door I NEVER fixed the wifeys door... Never will either... So I'm going to hell for this too...

Yea I know what you mean. These strikers look a little different. I don't think they ever had them. I'll guarantee it won't rattle right now. LOL

This is the only pic I seem to have that shows it.

over time they break and fall out. when that happens the door doesn't close very easily. yours takes the same nylon piece, that striker if from a 77 ford.

You really need those nylon rollers. Some parts stores do not carry the rollers but will sell the COMPLETE latch. I have purchased rollers that were a little too long so I ground them down so they will roll on the latch. You absolutely need them to roll on the latch. Please mark the position where the latch fits to the door jam. That way you will have a good starting place for the new complete latch or just the roller nylon. These door latches can be adjusted up down or back and forth to make the door close correctly. I have forgotten the size hex but find one that fits. These are supposed to be tight to keep the door closed correctly.. My old 79 chevy pickup door rattled for years till I found out nylon rollers were necessary. Once I replaced them no more rattle. It sure makes for a happy ride.;)
