As I was leaving work today, I noticed my truck running rough, looked down to see my rear tank was almost empty. I switched to my front tank, which is completely full then about 10 minutes later my truck died. I limped it onto a side road, but no matter how much I bleed the air from the filter head, it will only run for 15 seconds before dying and filling up with air again.

Does the switch work? Maybe you're still pulling from the (empty) tank. If that's fine, I'd check the water separator - maybe bypass as a test.
This is probably a more structured (better) approach
Try using fuel can direct to fuel pump trick. See if that runs fine. The idea is to find some known good section, and work your way back to the tank till you find the problem.

How do I know if the switch is working? When the tank is switched the valve makes noise.

When my fuel tank solenoid finally went bad it would not switch but you could here a loud clunk come from the valve/solenoid. I did not take it apart but I figured there is a connector in there that broke, and it was still moving parts but "too freely"..

"my rear tank was almost empty."
Any chance debris from the bottom of the tank was sucked into the lines.. causing an issue?

Okay, that sounds like it's the problem. I'll hook up a tank to the lines and work my way back to make sure

I had debris clog the line after working for some time. kinda luck of the draw if the little floaty or sinky bits get sucked into the tube. When it happened, mine would run for a bit (barely) if i floored it. then die.

...or replace the fuel filter again. A bad batch of fuel and/or and sucking off the bottom could have clogged it.
Cheap and easy thing to rule out.
