Only thing to consider is that the Allison is a rather large transmission, so you may have to massage the floorpan a bit. Let us know how the project goes. I've been evnisioning a modded duramax in a rwd car for awhile now.
NVCowboy, have a look at the identification lamp on 2001 and newer GM 3500s, those are lower profile, and might fit your bumper. You'll just have to grind off the 2 mounting tabs. That light can be had for about $20. I attached mine with 3M double sided tape, and that light never comes off.
I have 2 pairs of Fabtech FT-208 rear add a leafs for sale (Fits 99+ F250/F350) 2wd and 4x4. Each pair should provide about 2" lift.

It will fit, but you will have to change the bumper, headlights, and header panel to the 05 design as well. I did this conversion on my 2000. All the parts can be had for around $1,100-1,200 if you shop around. Try and find the front bumper on ebay.
I can see the cylinder deactivation on a gasser, however, diesel engines rely on the fuel for some of its lubrication needs. Would be interesting to see how they could overcome this.

If this is your first PSD, learn about the CPS, and consider keeping a spare, with the 10mm socket and screw driver. That is the main "weak link" in the 7.3 engine.

Actually I just happened across the jacob's web site, and I noticed their comments on why they don't offer a "jake" brake for the 7.3 psd. I wasn't referring to the ebv, as much as I was to the banks brake. I wasn't really looking for as much info, as I mainly found their explanation...
