Rebuilt ZF5 transmission
Im looking for recommendations on a reputable company that re manufactures the zf 5. I found a number of places online that is selling them but I do not know which one to go with. ATS non waistgate turbo on 1990 f superduty Auto
I just picked up a 1990 F Superduty, 7.3, E4OD, Only has 47000 miles! The truck has a couple small issues but the one im most concerned with is that when they installed the turbo, they removed and capped the trans. filler tube. Hard start issues
Got an 88 f250. Engine is very hard to start. Replaced all the glow plugs with ford motor-craft/ buru plugs. New glow plug control box. Checked continuity of the wiring harness, all is checking out ok. Even the wait to start light is staying on the proper length of time. Is there a possibility...- dieselman29200

Proud owner of 87 F350 6.9!

Why do you love your IDI?
I love mine because its never let me down, its ready when i am, affordable to fix, and I can fix it myself. Plus it has better fuel economy (pulling a load or not) than any new truck out there. Smoke Puff Limiter
Why would you want this anyway? It does nothing for the truck but keep it from smoking. Wouldn't it hinder the performance of the engine?- dieselman29200

Glow Plugs
I just ordered a set of motorcraft/beru, I had 6 champion 2 autolite plugs that were in the truck when i bought it 4 years ago. Clutch making noise with zf swap
Well it works real good, clutch pedal is easier to depress, gear changes are smooth. I checked the level and it was pretty good. I was thinking on putting 30w non detergent in er though.- dieselman29200

I got the hypermax turbo on it and the passenger side up pipe is in the road in order to pull the inspection plate. The sound only changes a little bit when the clutch is depressed, could it be because all the clutch parts are new and just need broke in?- dieselman29200

I did intall the disk the correct way, as it was written on it, as others have said, it is fairly loud especially compaired to the old t19- dieselman29200

Just got done swaping a T19 for a ZF-5, instauled a new 12" SMF,pressure plate, new pilot and throw out bearings. Started it up and noticed right away that it was making a rubbing sound. It makes it no matter if the clutch is depressed or not. could it be making this noise because it is new?- dieselman29200

New diesel option!
Just found this on the Hypermax web site, appears they have developed a mechanicly injected powerstroke conversion with an inline pump! Not sure what that would cost but that is cool! New Intake, what do you think?
I made a similar intake when I installed the turbo. I made it out of 3" pvc, and used a universal filter from Advance Auto. Cant say that the filter has treated me bad, I just dont like the fact that the open element is pulling all the warm air from the radiator. I think this does affect the...- dieselman29200
