Thanks for the input guys! Where to start,... the fluid wasn't too bad, inspection during teardown didn't show anything other than normal wear, cleaning was easy (there were three of us cleaning.. its good to have friends!) assembly and install went well... and then there was installing the...

I'm going to have FUN this weekend!!

A short while ago I burned up my trans.. I figured because I didn't have a whole lot of time, I would get a couple of prices for a rebuild (built for towing) and save myself the hassle.. I wasn't impressed with the prices I received. Anywhere from $2700 for a stock rebuild to almost $6000...

    e4od trans?

The bell housing and torque converter are different to start.. I think most of the internals are similar, but I'm not 100% on that. Hopefully some of the more savvy here will chime in!

    Laundry list of E4OD codes..

Did a retest (with a brick on the throttle) today before tearing into the truck and ended up with these... 11 1 14 29 62 Then I started to pull the truck apart (LOTS of fun getting that starter out..) And I got to thinking about doing a buildup with pics for the forum. What do you...

    Laundry list of E4OD codes..

Locking it in 4 Lo, your using only the front axle, so that tells me from the transfer case back something failed. No, I didn't lock in the front hubs... only did that to get a lower range. Minimal or no movement in any gear.. Most likely the converter or pump has died. This is what I...

    Laundry list of E4OD codes..

I think I have burned up my trans the other day.. Rolled up to a stop, when the light changed I hit the throttle,.. and nothing. Oh, the engine revved, but very little movement ( I had to lock it in four low to get it to the shoulder). So, now no forward gears, no reverse. I'm thinking I'll...

death wobble...how have you fixed it?

Because of the span between knuckles, I had a really bad flex in the drag link... But mine is the stock drag link.. I dont think you should have this problem with the DOM. I just didnt realize what you are running .. Sorry

    Pics of IDIs still working?

Older pic. This is pretty much an everyday occurrence. Only a few miles each way, but the uphill run I have means first, low-range, hubs locked in.... when it rains (Oregon coast?) downhill can be kinda fun...

death wobble...how have you fixed it?

Dont know if this helps,.. I have a early Bronco that had the death shakes. Ended up being the drag link and tie rod had a wild up and down flex. I stitched in a piece of angle iron ( imagine the roofline of a house ). That was eight years ago and still no shakes!

    Transmission Lockup

I know this may sound strange, but when I had this problem it ended up being the turn signal switch... both the ABS and trans are wired through it somehow.
