Just curious, are you pulling a trailer with this set up and if so what are your egts running. Also what kind of mpgs are you getting empty with this set up?

Same question. If I followed this advice, my EGT’s would be through the roof.

Back to the topic of putting a Suburban body on an F250, I really want to see how you do it. That sounds like a great idea if you can make it work.

I love this place. Where else can you merge a Chevy and a Ford and get supported doing so?

Certainly not Facebook! There was a guy cramming a PowerStroke in an old 73-87 Chevy and I couldn't believe the crap he was getting. I've always loved my Chevrolet's but I was SO glad to not see ANOTHER "me too" Cummins swap. It's great to see change and variety. What's the point of "hotrodding" if you're doing exactly what everyone else has already done?!

For sure. I’ve got a 63 dodge power wagon that will be getting an idi some day. Can’t tell you how many people have told me I “have to” put a Cummins in it....

Did you ask them why you had to put a Cummins in there? Just curious to hear their answers. Me? I would have just laughed at them!

Because it’s a dodge... apparently that means I am doing wrong by putting anything other than a Cummins in it. Makes me want to do the swap all the more!

It would me too. So they want you to change it from all Dodge to put in another engine? So what would be wrong with an International then? Why not a Detroit? Or a Caterpillar? Or are they just Cummins fan boys? I still think that I would just laugh at them.

I love mixing and matching to get the right combo. The best of the best would be (for me)

Ford superduty crew cab
97 Cummins engine
07 Dodge interior (hands down the best interior)

0.02 FWIW

The Fummins is a very popular swap. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it either. It's YOUR vehicle. Build it how YOU want and to hell with what anyone else wants. Unless they're going to pay for they build, then build it their way and build another your way!:Thumbs Up

Even as a purist, one forgets that rights to cummins was owned by Ford since I was a kid... Just a lil reversal of the roles is all.

You guys basically hit the nail on the head. It seems like most of the people I talk to say put a 6.2 or a 6.5 in it cuz it's easier or put a cummins in it cuz that is apparently the thing to do. I'm new to this forum and I do very much appreciate the support and its getting me very pumped up to start this project. If only my other project would go faster lol.
