I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with getting the parts they order from R&D? I ordered an ip after talking to him on the phone and he said it would ship within a week and that was 3 weeks ago. I'm in North Idaho and he is in western washington so shipping shouldn't be the issue. I have called at least 5 times and left a message with no answer or return call. Anyone have any ideas?

It’s been hit or miss with me, I order one thing for a customer and it gets here the next week, other times it’s been three weeks before a set of injectors show up. Have you gotten a confirmation email for the purchase or for it shipping?

I have an order conformation but nothing about shipping. I'm getting frustrated by the lack of communication and feel like I'm going to have to do something soon if I don't hear back from them

please remember R&D like many other cottage businesses, are a one-man part-time show. Justin has a real full-time job and a family to raise. I don't talk to him much, but I know when he does, he walks alot of newbs through the questions and issues they have. Many of you are lucky he has the patience. Patience is the key. Even Amazon isn't perfect. The lost an order of mime in their system for three weeks that should have been to me in two days.

I thought he announced in 2016 that he does r&d full time now and has an employee? Pretty sure he said it over on fte in one of his build threads

i don't hang out on FTE.
not to mention, of all people, you should be urging others to chill too rather than throwing him under the bus.

He's a busy person parts sometime will take time to happen, it's like 2-3 people working on parts vs people across All the States ordering parts from him. I notice he does batches of items, like a bunch of stage 1's injectors at once and then pumps and such. At least that's what he made it sound like when I talked to him a while ago

Maybe try emailing him? He just got the bronco going again so he may be on the road. I only shared my experience that the op asked for, but I haven’t had an issue getting a hold of him on the phone.

What can you do about this.... Not much. But as already posted. Patience is boss. I agree communication is also boss. Give it some time.then draw a line in the sand and find another parts supplier. We do not know what may be going on with Justin. Family illness or worse. Just hang in there. He will contact you.

Cottage business, or other, my main concern is product support; knowing Justin will answer the phone, it's a definite A +

You're right there's not much I can do. I don't mind waiting for Quality Parts, I just wish I could have some communication from his end. When I did get to talk to him on the phone prior to ordering he seem to be very knowledgeable which is why I decided to purchase from him in the first place. I guess I just wanted some reassurance from others who have purchased from him that I will eventually receive my ip. Hopefully before mine completely quits... Which probably isn't too far off and it's my daily driver

I kinda have to agree with the op. I had a similar issue with another small supplier here and got really frustrated not getting phone calls returned and waiting forever for parts.
I'm a firm believer in communication but at the same time, will always give people a chance to redeem themselves.
whether it be a large company, or a small mom and pop shop, I get really peaved when people can't return calls. Lol, I don't think there's anything that steams my clams worse than that!

Just wanted to update and say that I just received an email stating that my pump will ship tomorrow. Also Justin clarified that it is only him and one other person full time in the shop. Thank you to everyone for the help

Glad you got the stuff, I ordered an RD80 pump myself last week. I’m in no major hurry tho..

I ended up buying a core from a guy and having him send it directly to Justin at R&D, that way I can install my pump on my time table, and not have to worry about getting a core returned etc etc.

He makes the pumps to order which is fine, I’ve called Mel at CDI to talk about pumps and it was the same way, made to order, I thought he would have a shelf lined with all these cool moose pumps, but that’s just not the case.

Amazon has really trained our brains to expect products cheaper and faster, and lets face it. Quality doesn’t always come cheap and fast.

You must wait for quality, and his products absolutely are. I have many of his parts and know him personally. that is the problem is he is so backed up it isnt funny. I can tell you from talking to him he doesnt like it any more than any of us like it. He has made the comment that sometimes a product will sit on the shelf for a month or two, and then the next day 3 will get ordered, and that immediately puts him behind.
As far as getting a hold of him, email and wait for a response, or continue trying to call, dont be afraid to call back he will answer eventually. Because just as you enjoy talking with him and how knowledgeable he is so does everyone else who calls him, and that can make for extended time on the phone.
by the way @Dustinmhowe where do ya live? I am in moscow idaho. If you are close I wouldnt mine stopping and meeting another idier
