If switching to electric lift pump will I need a higher output pump for my 90cc ip? What all parts will I need to do the switchover? Regulators? Special connectors to go into fuel system with new pump? Anything just easy bolt on?

Watch the output pressure. If the pressure is within, say, 2 psi from idle to WOT, you are golden. If you have a wide range, you need something better.

(Note - my '93's mech pump is holding 3-4 psi from idle to wot, with a 110 cc pump)

That pump works fine for our engines. Please remember nearly 80% of the fuel getting to the injection pump is returned as both lube and cooling for the injection pump and injectors..

Is the duralift the one I want for reliability as well? Like I can instal and forget about it for at least a few years like my lift pump? And thanks for finding the thread On it I tried to locate last night I search but couldn't locate! I will read up on it today

Which facet pump should I choose by part number? Some say the 9-12 psi one works better than 5-7? Should I try that one and adjust timing after if it get to be advanced with slightly higher pressure?

I know pontoonrob and a couple others have had failures with facets. I Have heard good things about holley reds, but then again not as many people run them. I personally am not a fan of the facet, but whatever. "words"
On my stage 3 fuel system I fully expect the pump to die in 5 years. That is fairly common for the walboro gsl 392 but then again they are fairly cheap and commonly run, and produce way more than what I need for fuel pressure. But 5 Years in truck parts is an eternity for me. I truly think that 5-10 years is not abnormal for one. Heck its the same pump most of the psd guys run on there e-fuel systems. And they tend to run quite a while.

That's what I'm looking for like at least a few years is plently for me I wouldn't expect more from one. Can I get a facet or Holley red or the gsl 392 from oriellys by chance? I have a gift card from my birthday I got if not I'm just gonna buy all my fluids with it either way I'm spending money there I guess lol

only the holley can be got through oreillys, but it will probably be special order, thats all I know of. Holley red you dont need a regulator like 100 gph at 7-11 psi. For a bolt on pump I would absolutely run a holley red or even a carter p4070. I forgot about it until now.
the walboro 392 is 65 psi at like 60 gph. You have to run a regulated return for it.

Facet/Duralift is the pump that ****** units use... they have to be reliable since trucking companies get pissed off when 30,000 lbs of fish sticks defrost. I would trust a Facet 40285 a lot more than a Holley or a POS Mr. Gasket pump!

Want reliability, I pulled a facet cube pump off a 1972 john deere combine, still pumping away. The modern version is a facet 40289 similar flow and pressure to the duralift/facet, but a smaller package, mounts easily on frame rail. Probably installed a half dozen of the facet cube pump on other applications, and they just keep going.

I’m running the 9-12 psi duralift for what it’s worth. No starvation issues I’m aware of.

When I bought my Truck in early November it came with Mr. Gasket green and the truck would have starting issue, White Smoke issue, and quite running a lot. I am new to Diesel but I bought a Carter 110 gph 8-16 psi kit it came with five wire relay and fuel Pressure regulator for $120. I started with the regulator set at 7 psi and have rolled it down 5 psi because at seven it would vapor lock the tank because the amount of fuel it was moving. The truck runs great, put over 4,000 on her now. It is a daily driver now but needs a valve job. Good thing is I have another truck to drive while I pull the heads. I would not run the Mr. Gasket sump pumps because of white smoke, no start, and are only used for transferring fuel from one tank to another, it state that on the package. You need to buy a Fuel Pump like the other members are telling you. don't go Green or Red unless you like problems. Good luck on your choices.

I recall other members stating that they regulated fuel flow to 5 psi. It would be interesting to know at what point increased fuel pressure becomes necessary.

When I set mine up on the test bench I use 6.5 psi. Mel does the same, increased pressure becomes necessary when you are trying to squeeze more than 200cc’s out and you have to remove the transfer pump because that becomes a restriction.
