getting sick and tired of this critter.

I have this critter living inbetween my clutch and transmission.
this is the 3rd throwout bearing ive used since I did my ZF swap in 2014.
south bend for #1
napa for #2
Vatozone for #3

now its squeeling like a ****!

what can one do to change the design of the throwout? anyone have any alternatives?

changing a TO bearing every year is gonna get really old.

if it isn't a sealed bearing design, I use the needle adapter and add a little extra grease throughout the bearing. worked on my F450 to 980k/mi with four clutches total.

Chinese bearings? If so putting a good grease in them should help a lot.

Is it possible you have clutch cover or flywheel run out? Is it actually the bearing failing or just squeaks? Are the fingers on the clutch cover worn?

I have had very little problems over the years with TOB. The one that gave me problems went away when I changed the flywheel, but it also had vibrations at higher RPM.

I have recently gotten one in a clutch kit that was 1/8" too big for the snout. Caught that and replaced with proper one. The rest including my 4 pickups adding up to over 1,000,000 miles outlasted the clutch.

There has to bin a misalignment or run out issue.

clutch cover is not installed currently.
its not destroyed, yet. just cluckin like some chicks.
its just completely annoying that the only TOB you can get is chineese these days.

I cant remember who posted it but there was a DT swap with a greaseable TOB.
something like this would be awesome.

when it gets unbearable, ill do something.

Any chance a universal hyd. Unit could work?

Center force n1753 would probably last.
Can't say I've really ever heard of any problems with their stuff.

what would be nice is if they were like my sons 61.
2 piece TOB.
bearing presses on the sleeve.
may have to e-bay one, but I think itll be too long tho

Id do tob's with every oil change before I did that lol.

My tob makes noise and I have a replacement southbend clutch kit sitting here ready to go in, just lazy. Tob made noise since I got the truck 2 years ago. Can't give advice one what brand to use but I feel your pain man. I hope the one with my HD southbend outlasts the clutch disk but only time will tell. I've always tried to keep grease on the input where the tob rides, then squirt some pb blaster or wd-40 directly one the tob, a zerk fitting would be awesome

that was what I used when I did my ZF swap.
it is a closed bearing design.
