Want me to fly out there with my AE to fix it? Lol have you verified the pressure you are putting to it? Maybe you have a ****** gauge that's allowing you to over pressurize it and damage the gasket. Where is the coolant ending up? Or you mean that the pressure is just dropping? Because I'd try a different gauge and pressure set up then

the tester is working fine it held the pressure all the way up to 25 psi with the block off plates on.
yesterday I only gave it 12 psi with the new gasket on.
and it leaked down immediately.

the way I see it, ive deleted the possibilities of the block being in poor shape.
its obvious it isn't the timing cover.
its not the water pump.
its gotta be the bolts.
they must be a smidgen longer.
this is the only constant in this whole ordeal.
im gonna be pissed if it is lol
another dumb mistake.

on another note, I found that with the purchase of my last parts truck,
it came with a ****** bore 7.3.
if the bolts arnt the problem, I will be prepping this block for a rebuild and throwing my parts in it.
may even throw my turbo guts in it.

that's gunna eat at ya forever when you realize all you needed was a few washers or shorter bolts........just trying to cheer ya up! lol! it could be much worse.ever put a pump back in an auto trans, bolt it all in and fill up the trans with new fluid, only to find out you have no drive or reverse at all, then look over to see pump gears sitting on the bench? now that one will get ya hopping!:D

never give up!

Costly time consuming lessons are never forgotten. We all have a few. Some are tramping around a hot wrecking yard without water and others are having the runs in a wrecking yARD ONLY TO FIND OUT YOU DID NOT "MAKE IT TO SAFETY" AND FIND NO TOILET TISSUE.. SO YOU END UP CUTTING UP A NICE WORK SHIRT TO "CLEAN UP " WITH.. yES.. wE ALL HAVE STORY LESSONS WE WILL NOT SOON FORGET... Damn cap lock and fat fingers...:mad::mad::rolleyes:

I like leeland's idea.
See if you can bore scope it.
For this same issue over and over, gotta be something missing that no one is catching.

I tried to get my bore scope into the fuel pump spot.
removed the dampner.
then had an epiphany...
ripped the IP gear housing off and pressureized the system.
I could not find the leak, even after shooting brake cleaner down the sides and then hitting it with air pressure.
its gotta be the block.
im gonna tear it completely down and find the issue. I have 2 other blocks I may beable to use.
one is already 030 over, like my pistons.
the other is a ****** bore.
if I use the ****** bore, im gonna cut it 010 over and get new slugs.
may rebuild another short block and use all my goodies except the main studs, ill leave those with the current rotating assembly.
