Exhaust wrap and salt

if it helps im in indiana also and i did this to mine... i spent the money to get the downpipes from banks to go with my kit. had the cash and didnt have the time to make my own. i used DEI header wrap and i soaked then in a can and a half of their high temp silicone spray that they recommend. thats been 2 years ago...so far so good. just do yourself a favor and use regular hose clamps to hold the wrap to the pipes.

Those stupid stainless steel zip ties you can get just plain suck....

whenever i do exhaust work
which i have done tons of, now a days i wont do it unless its stainless.
easier to TIG, and lasts forever,
the longevity of the finish product outweighs the price.
i hate doing things twice.

Good advice. There is a reason manufacturers use stainless; cost benefit is worth the extra expense. I remember when exhaust systems were replaced on cars several times in their lifespan, and a car's lifespan was much shorter then than now.
