my passenger side was amkign a loud bad clunk when coming to a stop for a month or so..ball joints were compeltely destroyed. I mean I could move the knuckle a good 1/2" in all directions by hand. Installed the new updated dust shield too..want to pull the axle out of the other side and isntall it too, or else more an more sand and crud will keep piling up in there. Im scared the inner diff seal will **** the bed soon, as no matter how much i vacuumed in tehre crud was still in there and gets over the axle when re installing it..just gotta hope for the best..
Also my 7k lb rated lift lifted the truck up no problem made hte job much easier.

Also repalcing the drag link L and R right TRE with moogs, (150 bucks down the drain), the ones i bougth originally off ebay listed moog part numbers, but f*****s sent some china crap, its non greasable and they are already developing play.
so 100$ in ball joints, 100$ in BJ tool, 150 in TRE< 50$ alignment...damn

also installed a trick block heater connector and plumbed in the line lock for the front brakes, just need to do final wiring tonight.

that upper ball joint stud was so stuck in there took me 4 hours of drilling and pounding to get out. note to self..buy air hammer..

Super jealous of the lift. May have to knuckle under and do that next year. I hear you on the axle tubes being clear full of crap. When I tore mine down, I bought a clean toilet brush that just fit down the axle tube to scrub it out. Oh the crud that came out of it. Luckily I was putting in fresh seals so no big deal there. I did it with the carrier in all in place so if you do have to change seals, at least you won't have to totally tear down to bare housing I don't think.... No... I take that back, I did have the carrier out. Sorry... don't know what I was thinking. I did have it down to basically bare.

I'll sit back and be jealous of your lift and keep my trap shut...

I do love the plug though. I'd like to do something similar to mine but put it in the grill or maybe the filler panel.

THe lif twas undoubtedly the best purchase I have made outside of the home and pole barn. I would be under cars swearing and complining telling my wife goddamit i need a lift this is some mickey mouse crap. I had the money for it, well a new china unit but i thought..this is something I am going to be under almsot every day...DO i want to save 1000$ today but maybe die tomorrow? but then this rotary 7k asymetrical lift popped up for liek 500 less I was goign to spend on the china lift, got it for 1200 bucks. Another 75 in anchors, and 100$ for a rotary hammer and I was in business!

Is your ceiling 10 or 12'? The whole reason I went 12' was so I could do a lift and actually lift the truck high enough for it to be useful. Maybe some day. My big thing with a lift, and maybe you can help me here is it seems like it would take up such a huge chunk of real estate. Is it a pain to work around when you aren't using it or do you just park under it how do you deal with it?

10'. so i cant get vehicles all the way up to walk under, im also 6'3", but its more than enough to sit on my rolly mechanic chair and do what I have to do, no complaints at all! I can lift the truck a good amount too, no problems getting the hi lift rolling trans jack under to pull the tcase or trans either.

regarding the room it takes up, well basicaly if I have a car in there on the hoist, thats it, i dont have anything else in that bay. And the foxbody occupies the other bay.
But when I am not using it IE no cars in the bay I dont even notice it. I have all my coolant and oil collection 20 gallon rolling tubs beside, wood to get low cars on to it, and the tire machine is on the right side of it. etc. Tool box is basicaly right infront of it. So no, not an issues when it is not in use. and the shop is 32x32, decent size but not massive by any means.

That is where I went wrong and still regret it. I only went 24 x 40. I should have went 32 wide. I have plenty of depth but width is a problem. Oh well. I'll get it right next time maybe.
