Cheap Homemade Power?!

Hey all been awhile since I have posted, hope everyone is doing dandy...

So I've encountered a few threads mentioning propane injection, some people have made their own kits for less than $100 and have claimed huge benefits in power when paired with a engine that is being injected with more than enough fuel than it can burn. This of course makes logical sense because the propane adds more oxygen to the engine, burning more fuel, making more power and less smoke ( some claimed 100 hp gained )

My question is if any of ya'll have tried this and maybe have a parts list that I could copy?

Propane allows your diesel fuel to burn more completely, thus, you get more from the fuel you already have. Engine burns it more efficiently, then you add some propane on top of that.

It's really quite easy to make your own system if you can handle a little bit of plumbing and wiring, basically you want to turn the propane on after the engine hits a certain RPM or throttle position, and off again below that. If you do some googling you should find more detailed directions.

Water injection can help too. Eventually I'm going to have my truck running on WMO, diesel fuel, gasoline, propane, and water...all at the same time!

good source of info, just picked up a nos system and I'm gonna add the propane as well as the nos to add more fuel/oxygen

I ordered braided 1/4" lines for the propane as well as a regulator and electric valve, like number 21 said I'm going to have a switch in the cab to activate the propane/nos at high rpm's when it is safest to use these elements... Basically avoiding predetonation and holes in my pistons

NOS is 33% oxygen since 1 out of every 3 molecules are oxygen.
as for how propane brings more oxygen into your engine, i cannot explain it since i am not a chemist
however, i have seen propane work first hand and the moment it is activated (if setup correctly) all your black smoke aka unburned fuel is gone

I am not an idiot I fully grasp what and how NOS works and the fact it is N2O as a chemical composition.

You YOU are the one who said propane introduces more oxygen...not me I mearly asked how it did that since it was a fuel not am oxidizer.

I also fully grasp the workings of propane in our engines and also ha e seen it first hand. There are az usual parts accumulating for my Own Propane setup.

Al, I am a chemist and I don't get it. Better burn.... I might buy that. Just because the engine is close to stoichiometric doesn't necessarily mean that it's got the right conditions to make use of all the fuel available leading to soot. More oxygen.... nope.

So while I don't doubt that it can clean up the soot and give more power (less wasted fuel and then the added fuel of the LP) I have to say I don't agree with your reasoning. Combustion at face value is a really simple process. In practice, however, it is full of nuance. This is why race teams pay a lot of money to guys who can figure out how to squeeze that last ounce of efficiency out of the system.

Wow dude just tryin to be helpful, I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert in this.... that's why I came here asking questions

Maybe "introducing oxygen" was the wrong wording... but the propane does aid in burning more fuel than regular air, after more research I read that the homogeneous mixture of the propane and fuel burn better than air and fuel... dont expect me to explain that friend

Thanks brother! I'm always glad to show off my truck, the supercharger is for a 4.0 (V6 on 2005ish mustangs) and took quite a bit of fab work over a month but it is the best setup ive had so far and ive tried the ats route

as for water **** I thought about it but it is so damn cheap to do propane, probably 1/4 the price, its hard to beat

So waiting for you to be the text rat so to speak
