Duh? Just giving you crap...

I think of that when I see those big jacked up trucks and extreme angles on the u-joints. Same phenomena explains why solid front axle 4x4s shudder on hard turns.

I think another place this can be seen/felt is in a short wheelbase dump truck. We had a single axle 5 speed in an IH dump truck decades ago, the driveline was short, so the driveshaft dropped quickly. When heavily loaded, this learching in the shaft and joints was very pronounced....it was not the clutch, and it was fully engaged.....

One would have thought this was not possible but sure nuff. Science does not lie. Saw this a few years ago here but still current for today's fools lifting their rigs.

Freeze-frame it within the first few seconds, and you'll see that the joints are already just slightly out of phase. Evidently not enough to be noticeable.

I wonder if that's one of those new chip-embedded credit cards.....

The change in velocity of the output shaft is relative to the angle of deflection, so within a couple degrees (ie, normal vehicle operating range) the difference is essentially negligible.
