So I'm looking at a 4x4 its a 84 f-250 base model (manual windows) but on the bed it says Explorer Now I know it's probably a package but what did it include maybe sometime like a Dana 50?Any ideas?

My understanding is that it was chrome grill, trim around wheel wells, chrome bumpers, am/fm and a higher gear ratio. Essentially a "fancy" looking XL.

What I'm planning on is swapping my cab onto the 4x4 frame.
Dont know what I'll do with the 2wd maybe sell it.

Mine has the explorer package, and has a Dana 44HD, so I dont think it means you get a Dana 50. Like said, its probably an XL+ trim level. Mine has manual everything, AC, and cruise.
Yep, it is just an "Appearance Package". We had one in a 73 F-250 2wd. I think it was a creature comfort thing....... It had A/C, Dual Color Bench Seat, Dual Tanks, The Explorer badging (in the dentsides it was the 2 on the bedside, that were nice molded badges, and one on the glove box...... all the Explorers also had a specific stripe along the rocker area...... we didn't have on in a bullnose....
The Explorer and Ranger packages on the pickups were killed off in the mid 80's so they could recycle the names into the Little truck and the SUV.......
But for $650, and it looks like its all there, and in decent shape, its a no brainer.........
