Master cylinder.

89 f250 7.3 with the e4od. So I need a little help, had the clutch pedal go all the way to the floor. The push rod to the clutch master cylinder broke, purchased a new master cylinder and bleed it. The pedal feels like a soft pedal and doesn't want to come back on its own and it won't let me get into any gears. I had my gf hold clutch down while I went under and the slave cylinder is moving the clutch just not enough. What could be the issue? One thing I found weird. Old push rod was threaded so it was adjustable. New push rod is one solid piece. Any help is appreciated.

You definitely do not have an E4OD

I actually do. Truck started as an auto and did a swap a couple years back and put that in it.

actually you HAD. now you dont.
unless you have a completely locked TQ and youre using the clutch as a slip.

No you don't you either have a Zf5 or a T19
Automatics don't have clutch master cylinders

;p Yes he does, it's a ZF5 driving an E4OD driving a DNE2 driving a Brownie and somewhere in between is a transfer case, the MC is a 3" boar, now that's a pig if I've ever seen one.

you push the clutch in to disengage fluid from the pump, which acts like a neutral.
i highly doubt he has one tho.

Seriously tho. From what your saying "soft pedal" bleed the slave cyl. got air in it. Most any hardware store has the threaded Heim rod.

If it had an auto trans it could HAVE been an E4OD or a C6 however if it now HAS a standard it could be a ZF 5sp or T19 4sp. Both of those srd trans use a third pedal a d .aster slave cyl arrangement.

Here is a tip....use search..choose advanced search actually ...put tech 101 in the search area...choose titles and for user name put my user name in. There is an article on how to nkeed the clutch with a few different techniques discussed...
