Looked at the truck. Owner says mechanic thinks head gasket is going out. No milkshake and it runs great. I couldn't cold start it but the exhaust was clean. At idle it got a little misty for a minute like a stuck injector. Couldn't smell coolant but smelt like raw fuel. I have no idea if its a gasket but it runs too well. Coolant is a tiny bit low but still very visable and clean. but a slight hint cloudiness. Drives great! Tags are good.

Removing air cleaner showed a milkshake looking goop oozing out of the CDR valve. Not much but it looked like peanut butter.

Owner was a open book about the truck. 254k to me sounds like its got a new Oil cooler. New batteries. Newer IP. Returns are newer. AC blows cold. 3.55 open diff.

I see no flex for clutch pedal and goes in all gears smoothly. Slight chatter on shutdown like normal

Its extremely clean, so long as you go into it with the mindset that you have the cash to do a full sleve job rebuild and talk him down a tad on the price to go with that, I'd say go for it. nIf it turns out to just be a head gasket, then great, but you're the one taking the gamble with the cash, not him, so don't be throwing too many dollars around.. If he had the money to fix it, hed be doing it., obviously his mechanic shot him a figure he couldn't live with, so you are in a good position. A dealer wouldnt give him a plugged nickle in trade on the thing and if he were to put it up on salvage auction he might get $100, most he could get would be a boneyard , scrap is high right now , he could probably get $400. Buy wisely.

Well I got it. All the work put into it recently makes it worth it.

Nice...that's a nice service box, I just got rid of one that was for duals. If it was a single setup like that I'd kept it.
