It seems to me,I used to be able to find a lot more of these trucks, even only a couple years ago. I plan on getting a couple more for me And my wife someday, but it seems that they are getting extinct. Please tell me I'm wrong...

its because they keep getting scrapped by idiots that dont know how to fix a simple diesel, and their wives play the I dont like it card.

Im so lucky to be married to a car chick that doesnt want a new vehicle every year.

Breaking news: Stuff no longer made eventually becomes hard to find. Story at 11. lol.

Seriously, guys. This is inevitable with ANY vehicle, no matter how popular.

whiteboyslo said exactly what i was thinking lmao. just because we like them, doesn't mean everyone wants to keep old run down trucks forever.not everyone knows how to nor wants to work on their own vehicles.due to labor costs it can be more cost effective for many to simply replace vehicles more often rather than have older ones fixed.that and many of them just rust out.
it's bound to happen.they can't last forever.well if they did they wouldn't make new ones for anything.;)
so naturally, yes your right.they will continue to get harder and harder to find.but they made so many ford trucks,if you really want one you'll never have any real trouble sourcing one during your lifetime.just means you may have to travel further to find the right one.

The bad news is: our trucks are getting older every day and they aren't being built any more. The good news is: Ford built a lot of them and the gassers have many parts we can use on ours.

It will take a little research and digging to find them in the coming years, but here on OB, we have a head start on non-factory authorized repair techniques, tools and outright shortcuts. That will help us keep the old tanks running, stopping and looking good.

There are quite a few people that are fixing and driving them also.

That 45k and up sticker on the new stuff makes it easy to throw some cash at an older truck.

Me deep in the rust belt of Canada, i've been seeing a pretty steady flow of these trucks, coming and going for sale and on the road. Alot of 'em, in very good shape to.

The trucks are out there. Problem is, everyone thinks they are still only worth $1200. In today's economy, thats not enough money to justify bothering with a truck so off to the salvage yard they go. Look at Optikalillushun. He wants somewhere in the range of $3500 for a solid 4wd work truck. He's getting told that he would be better off to part it out by some.cookoo He SHOULD be getting $6-8,000 for a truck like that. When someone wants $10,000 for a clean truck with nice shiny paint, good tires and a clean interior, we scoff at them and say "Oh, I wouldn't give him more than $4800 for that thing."

For reasons I can not understand, our instant gratification and throw away society has become so clouded that unless its 30-40-50-even 60 thousand dollars, its unworthy of value no matter what its capable of doing.:dunnocookoo Sorry for my rant, should've had another beer tonight, I guess.;Really;Sweet

BUT, the rest of us do!!!! Mel will probably take all the IPs you can give him. A few guys on here are rebuilders of the injectors and IPs, hopefully they see this post and reach out to you and you are willing to help them out with cores.

No. Airbags did not make it into diesel Fords until the Superduty. They did have driver airbags in the 94-up F-150 I believe. It looked like a Taurus steering wheel.
