Thanks for the update SWS. What size of pulley did you decide to go with? Also with the little amount of boost you do have, can you feel and difference at all on the low end?

Not sure what size it was. I sent him the plans and now he is asking me if I have copies (which I don't). I think it was a 1.9" pulley and I am hoping to have 4 psi at idle and move to about 10 under throttle.

But now there is a problem with my fuel system. It cranks...and cranks...and cranks...no start. Lots of smoke, but no start. So, last night it fired RIGHT UP and I thought that maybe there was air in the system that had finally worked its way out. Got to work and after sitting, it fired right up again. Today...3 tries before there was anything. I can't find any leaks so I think there may be a problem in the filter head.

I think you might have posted your pulley up on the other page if you need it again. As far as your IP goes, it sounds like to me that it might be going out. Towcat told me a long time ago that if it isn't working when it is warmed up and starts easily when it is cold that the IP is going out. Now might be a good time to upgrade it. :D

Its a baby moose. Has MAYBE 1k miles on it. I got in touch with my brother who is going to get me sorted out soon. I HOPE he will ship it to me by weeks end.

Remember, if I wanted HUGE boost, I would have put the turbo on it and called it good. I want something from idle into the RPM range. The NP435 and the gears/tire size is not all that great for the diesel. The 2-3 and 3-4 shifts put the RPM pretty high in the band prior to the shift, and like JUST off or at idle for the next gear.

So I want to get the 4-10 psi during the driving and after I get that worked out, I will start on the HHO system to see if I can improve the milage there too. I will also be tryiing to get my 6 spd home.

Based on this comment alone, I suspect a bad glow plug contactor. Smoke indicates you have fuel in the cylinders, but no combustion. The contactor (or relay as it is incorrectly called) may be closing, but if the contacts are pitted, you may not get conductivity on every cycle.

With that supercharger even at 10psi you will pretty good low end and mid-range power if you ask me. You will have boost sooner but max boost might not come on as quickly as with a turbo due to the fact that the SC will make its max boost above 3K. But on the other hand, you will have boost at any given time which will off-set that a lot. The supercharger will also keep smoke to a minimum down low also which will make it a clean burning rig. If you ever did want more power, you could always blow a turbo into the SC too... :D

What kind of 6 speed are you adding? Are you adapting a ZF6?

Mel. I KNOW it is a fuel issue. When it finally kicks on a few cyls, it will start lugging and kind of idling. No matter what you do with the accelerator after it is running, it will not rev, and nothing will change for the first few seconds. I looked yesterday and I have a bit of fluid in the valley pan, so I THINK there may be a line or two leaking on the rear of the IP. I have to figure that out and it should be good ta go.

Not sure what all is going to happen once I get the new pulley installed. I will see where it will be and I have the Garrett from a powerstroke. I will throw it under the pass side in the exhaust stream to feed the SC if I need it. I THINK with the blower and another gear, I should be where I want to be.

The tranny is a ZF6 and is only 4x2. I am looking to the change to see how much it is going to cost. More than likely, I will be in the market trying to trade it for a ZF5. The exampl is this; If I am going to shift a gasser at 3500 and it is set to drop to 1400 in the next gear, then I would be just off of idle making it shift normally. Sucks, wish I had a tach that worked to post actual RPMs, but...I don't.

As of now, I drove it last weekend...all weekend. It is about 16mpg. I have to make it smoke black in order to get it to pull its self up hills and such. It works, but is not ideal.

Dont give up on it just yet...You dont have that m90 pullied right. If you spin it 4:1, or even 3.5:1 it has no choice but to work. Also, you need to get an 8rib belt on it as a 6 will slip. you can get a pulley through lightning force performance and adapt from there.

Ask me how I know.... The setup im building on my f150, eaton m112 over s475 (its on a cummins, but same principle)

Im using a 10lb lower, notice the diameter

More info on that pulley please!!

I looked on the LFP website, but could not find any info on drive pulleys.

You really can't add to the size of the pulley on the crank of the IH. It is about 1" or so (if that) from the crank to the water pump.

As far as the 6 spd, I am really just trying to get it home. I want to find someone who will trade me a 6 4x2 for a 5 4x4. Remember, I have 150 running gear. 5 lug, 9", D44 and such needs no help to break it.

Worked it like a dog this weekend. Pulled out a few thousand pounds of trees. I am going to miss the ultra low 1st of the NP435 when its gone.

Hey do you have a build thread anywhere? I don't want to clutter this thread...
