Airtex fuel pump in a Delphi box

I've been having some trouble out of the truck recently so I bought a new lift pump for it. I couldn't source anything but an airtex pump locally, so I bought a Delphi off Amazon. It arrived, I slapped in on the truck and went for a test drive. Upon returning home I thought I'd read the warranty literature. When I did that it said to send the defective item to Airtex Products! So now I don't know what brand pump I've got on it.

Just thought I'd check to see if anyone had had the same experience. Maybe delphi is selling airtex pumps in their own box? Or amazon goofed it up? Anyway, I'm going to see if amazon will do anything.

I had to rent a car to get to work today. All they had for me to rent was a Prius. I drove it 50 miles and it took four gallons to fill it back up...

Atleast they didnt have nothing but impalas! haha.....isnt that false advertising? I think amazon just had a mix up? ...have you heard back from them?

depends on how his route is. friend of mine followed me across Alligator Alley in his prius with my crown vic. I got a solid 30mpg crusing 80. He got 28 doing the same.

12.5 does sound low though

The box said delphi, the warranty info says airtex. I don't see how amazon could do that, unless delphi is buying airtex stuff and selling them. But its weird either way. So I'm going to return it to them and they gave me the impression they will refund everything, including shipping both ways, even with a used pump. Then I'll just buy a delphi off rockauto or just get a carter if I can find one.

To be fair, the Prius had half a tank when I got it. I tried to fill it back to half a tank on the gauge. 2 gallons didn't make the gauge move at all. 4 gallons took it over a bit. I'm sure the gauge is dummied down and a partial tank average is not at all accurate anyway. I just didn't like driving a Prius.

I had the same thing happen. I paid extra for a Delphi pump at O'Reilly. I put the pump on today and happend to read the warranty card, and it had Airtex on it. The pump is on now and too much trouble to take it off, so I'll see what happens.

Well thats enough for me. At least three people have bought delphi pumps, and had an airtex warranty card in it. So Delphi = Airtex. I guess its $40 for a carter, hopefully thats not an airtex either. Or $120 at the dealer.

I put a "Delphi" on about two years ago. Who knows if it was really an airtex or not. It lasted 20k before dropping to about 4 psi, and wouldn't get me started below about 30 degrees. With the new delphi/airtex it starts and runs fine, about 5 psi, but I'm pulling it for a carter. I'm not running the risk of filling my crankcase with fuel, plus I may have a 1500 mile plus trip towing coming up and I don't want to be broke down in Kansas.

i have a question i see alot of you guys wanting to run a delphi and i have no idea whats on my truck but goin to be replacing the lift pump my question is how big of a diff is there between delphi and carter i havent seen too much input on this....but if delphi is going airtex i guess carter would be the way to go lol and btw the carter is only 30$ on rock auto

delphi repackages other products.
older delphi was known as "AC delco" with a "AC" cast in large fonts in the pump body.
Airtex is a "A" with a circle around it cast into the body of the pump.
not all airtex units are junk.
we have seen and some experienced a bad batch run.

how are you guys finding carter on rock auto? when i looked a few days ago all that was listed was a delphi.

instead of clicking on fuel pump click on lift pump thats how i found it, it did not show it the other way

i think you meant click on fuel pump rather than clicking on lift pump. when you hit lift pump it gives you delphi. when you hit fuel pump yo get carter and airtex. i just looked and found it. wish i would have found it the other day. could have saved $10.

I didn't believe you, but then looked and its there all right. Just not under "Fuel Lift Pump." I got my carter for about $32 on ebay though. None of the pumps I've seen have any sort of casting in the housing to distinguish brand.

The airtex/delphi pump i got didn't have a single stamp in it either.
