Only flaw I see is for the people with manual trans trucks. U just cut a large hole right above the clutch master cyl in an area where the firewall is already weak

i cleaned out my drains the other day. passenger side drain had a mouse nest in it. they both flow good now.

More to the point, on the OBS trucks, the clutch master cylinder bolts directly to the pedal assembly...on the earlier trucks, the master cylinder bolts onto studs in the firewall.
Regarding weakening the firewall, I imagine that, once freebird's firewall reinforcement plate's installed, you shouldn't have a problem
How much additional noise are people hearing with the cowl induction? Is it unbearable at freeway speeds? I'm seriously considering doing it, but have heard that it can make the noise too much to handle...

What happens when snow and ice cover the cowl vent?

Scrape the snow off the cowl or you can take the intake tube off of the air box.

i have alittle more sound its a nice sound not annoying by any means and i had no problem last winter didnt even clear the cowl off

Has anyone had water problems at all with this set up? I live in a place where it rains about 9 months straight out of the year. I could use the extra air flow, but not at the cost of water in my intake.

ya, i am now finding out it is not worth the 4" hole in the firewall. it is also TOO restrictive.
