Well, I think Murphy has moved on. My ZF5 should be done today. If so, I'll try and get it in the truck Friday night/Saturday. The reverse slider and reverse gear were toast. Both had to be replaced. New seals added too.;Sweet As far as the transmission dust cover, I beat it with a hammer until I felt better (good therapy) and hopefully it will clear the flywheel now.

Got a good deal done on the wiring. There is still hope that I will get the crew cab on the road for my trip at the end on the month.

Ouch. Thankfully you didn't hae a lot into buying the tranny lol.

I bought the parts truck just for the Dana 60. The ZF5 was just a "use it cause I have it" kind of thing. Too bad it needed a rebuild. I also have a EFI low mileage 460 in that truck. I need to sell that thing.:D

Heath, if it is any comfort, the Night Moose has been running without a flywheel cover since we built it. :dunno

I have a ZF getting ready to go in the Moosestang which is in the "wonder what I bought?" catagory also. I'll hang the Murphy Zapper in the garage and hope for the best (looks like a bug zapper, but has a yellow light LOL).

:D I need to get me one of them Murphy Zappers. He's been feeding on my blood for too long. I hope your ZF5 is in good shape. I was fooled by it shifting into all gears (including reverse) without any issue on the shop floor. Once I put a load on the reverse gear, I found out that unpleasant pressure on my backside was Murphy bending me over for some unauthorized ******!:puke:

I wouldn't say that too loud doc, ****** girl might get jealous! :D

:rotflmao Yeah, she hates missing out on any chance to get somdomized.:rotflmao

Anyway, I got the transmission back from the rebuilder yesterday afternoon. I was able to get it in the truck last night as well.:music::rock: That and the crossmember were all that I got done. I will try and get the US Gear underdrive and the transfer case behind the transmission tonight. I hope to have the truck out of the shop and on the road by the end of the weekend.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.
