Our fuel filters are rather expensive, well whats a cheaper fuel filter we could run? I was thinking is it possibly to change out the whole filter head and install one that will accommodate a different/cheaper filter. I'm not saying buying a cheap filter but one that's more common in today's world. Is this possible or am i just thinking to much?
I been thinking about installing an inline filter or sediment bowl after the selector valve to catch some of the particles before they hit the fuel filter. Can this be done also?

Down near the bottom of the filter is two electrical fitting in the plug. One is the water in fuel lite and the other is the fuel heater. Out here in sunny Ca. we don't need a fuel heater... Ever.... I have not hotted up this electrical plug yet and don't know if the heater is just like our 7.3 fuel heaters. I need to do some looking....
