cdr delete question....

I did search this but got no answer.. so..
Back story, 86" 6.9. bought a used turbo system, 093.. have everything but the valve covers... so no cdr on the engine..
the oil fill tube ( bolted to the injection gear cover} is a 1/4 twist on , i know i need a vent for crank case pressure..
I drilled a 1/2 hole in the side of the filler tube and welded on a short 1/2 pipe, then ran a hose from that down under the truck, just like the big rigs.. or the older ones anyway
Any one see a issue with this? other than some mist under the truck,, mostly looking for engine or running problems .. thanks

I would suggest a catch can, as there is a lot of turbulence from the IP gear, you'll lose a steady amount of oil from there, that's why people usually weld an AN fitting on the valve cover and use that for the vent.
