It didn't work out. I think that he made a mistake on the arm placement and it didn't sound like he wanted to pursue it any farther at that time.I'm still waiting for a conclusion to the rebuildable pump that IDIoit started...
I can add a little bit more now. My research was by no means all encompassing. From what I found out, the 24v Cummins lift pump is only rated at 30 GPH so that's why it's not very good for our use. The 2nd gen 7.3 PSD lift pump is rated at 40-45 GPH (not very accurate, but it's what I came up with) which is about what the mechanical lift pumps for our engines are rated at. They would work for a stock or mild upgrade, probably any stock turbo kit sold would be fine with this lift pump. A bigger turbo, injector pump, and/or injectors will probably want more fuel than the PSD pump will supply. Just for the record, the 1st gen 7.3 PSD mechanical lift pump is a completely different design than ours and can not work with our IDI engines.Since it was supposed to be in the mid to high 50's I took the afternoon off to swap out my dead Holley blue for the Delphi 24v Cummins lift pump that I have on hand. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the threaded fittings in the Delphi weren't 1/4" NPT like I thought they were when I first opened the box and looked at the pump! From my quick exercise in Google Fu makes me think that they are M12x1.5 and Dodge used banjo bolts for the fuel lines into and out of the lift pumps.I asked at the mechanic's shop across the street from me to see if he had anything that might fit. Of course not. He doesn't have a 1/4" NPT tap. I do have one-15 miles away in my garage!
So I found a place that sells M12x1.5 fittings with a 10mm barb quite a bit cheaper than McMaster-Carr which only seems to carry pipe thread to barb fittings. I ordered 5 since, I believe, the PSD lift pump that I ordered also uses that size of fittings. I paid just about as much for 1-2 day shipping as I did for the fittings, but that will be worth it and I'm desperate at this point.
GEE IT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF IDIBOBS WOULD HAVE GIVEN OUT HIS MAGICAL PART NUMBER FOR THE 50,000 MILE MECHANICAL LIFT PUMPS BEFORE HE LEFT!!!
Ok it was bothering me so I had to look. Stock 6.5 lift pumps are rated at 30 GPH free flow from what I was able to find. Once again, not a good option for us.The only thing that I haven't looked into is the GM 6.2/6.5 e pumps. Those pumps have fittings that a fitting on the stock metal fuel lines screw into. I may be wrong here, but it seems like they use o rings for seal along with the fittings too. Since I've had all of the fitting locating that I can stand for now, I'm not looking too hard at the GM e pumps immediately.
I bought and installed that raptor pump. Only been on the truck for about 2 months. In that time it has been great. Just be warned it uses ORB threads and two different sizes for the inlet and outlet. One side is 9/16-18 ORB and the other is 3/4-16 ORB. One of them comes with the pump. I forget which one, and you can order the other fitting off the website for a decent price, but the shipping on it was insane at least for me. Since my new fittings should be here before the PSD pump, I'm going to put the Cummins pump on my truck. At 30 GPH, hopefully it will be good enough for my N/A truck which is usually empty or only lightly loaded. In the spring, I'll install the PSD pump. After that, I'm looking at a e pump made by Air Dog under the Raptor name. It's rated at 100 GPH which is more than this truck will ever need. You can buy just the universal pump by itself, pre set at 8 PSI, for $332 list. Anything else lists for $484 and up, from what I've seen.

How many gph do we need? The ds4 pump 6.5 uses a different specd lift pump(looks the same), but the 93 and earlier use a db2, cant imagine the fueling requirements from a mildish turbo 6.9 7.3 being much different than a 93 6.5 td?????Ok it was bothering me so I had to look. I feel like this is usually my most successful way to talk my spouse onto my side. Show them that my original position was, in fact, the least of what it could have been hahaAfter a brief hiatus, I am going to try to get back into snowmobiling. I love the MidWest, but I do hate trailering in the winter, especially if you have nice stuff getting pelted with salt and debris on your trailer. This is particularly hazardous with a dually. I like the functionality of mudflaps, but I'm not a giant fan of drilling holes to mount them, so I decided to go the route of what the motorhome folks do to protect their "toads". I got a deal on these Rock Tamers and I am just mocking them up to check fitment. I'm going to move some stuff around to get them closer to the bumper, but I'm hoping this keeps the majority of the roadswiz off my sleds/trailer.
My wife really doesn't like the camper top on my truck as she says it looks so much better without it. I love the functionality/security/high roof/etc as I can keep anything in the back under safe/dry lock and key. Nonetheless, she says the campertop is hideous and I should remove it to improve the overall looks of my truck. When she came out and saw the Rock Tamers installed for the first time today her immediate feedback was "I didn't think anything could make your truck look worse than the campertop, but you did it: those flaps are actually even more hideous than the campertop." I told her as I have many times before, she didn't marry me for my youth or good looks: functionality is what makes a good husband
