I put a topper on my gasser pickup in the winter.
Annoying when the box is full of snow when i need to use it.
I use to only use 4 clamps but found the topper moving backwards a few times.
Now I use 6 clamps and haven't had problems since.
When my daughter backed into the box on that truck a few years ago and I needed to fix it.
That is exactly how i brought a new take off box home to fix the truck.
It was the same color and was cheaper then quotes from the body shop.

i love toppers, they're usually called canopies around here. snow, rain, whatever it makes life way easier usually. was loading a lot of 4x8 pallets into the bed last summer and didn't have any issues. I mostly like not having to worry about items being stolen. don't sleep in the bed as much as I used to either ha

Well I tried to install cruise control on my 91…

Added:

Speed sensor, with proper speedometer cable.

Horn pad with cruise control buttons

Cruise control servo

Vacuum canister

Mechanical vacuum pump (serpentine belt, was previously deleted)

Horn relay designed for cruise control

Cruise amplifier

Vacuum dump brake switch

Wiring harness from in cab to firewall and servo.

And now all it does is redline itself when it builds vacuum

No RABS since it’s an F-Superduty

ZF5

Can 92-96/97 electronic cruise be retrofitted to an 87-91 truck?

87 and 88 appear to have a slightly different cruise system, at least my 88 does. More akin to a bullnose system.

Bump

Anybody have suggestions or ideas? I’d like to have cruise control on my 91…

Then again, sometime this week I’m gonna go pick up the truck I just bought, and if it seems well enough (my dumb **** bought it sight unseen) then I intend to use it about like my 91.

What I bought is a 94 F350, 4WD, RCELB, with an 11’ dump bed, that is a flatbed with lots of toolboxes. I might wind up putting a different bed on though. 7.3 IDI, non turbo, E4OD, with a great big winch on the front.

It has all the bells and whistles, A/C, cruise control, power windows.

And with an E4OD, and 4.10 gears, and the 093 that I’ve got for it, the truck may turn out to eat up the road pretty good. My 91 F-Superduty is fine, for most things, but, not interstate highway.

I'm giving you crap because there's a guy who keeps bugging me about it. I told him that it's his if you don't get it. It's also getting a little bit crowded here. I'm almost out of concrete space right now.

If he’s more apt to get it out of your way sooner, then by all means, let him at it. I can get ahold of one some other way if need be. You don’t have to hold it for me. I’d appreciate it if you did, but I sure don’t expect that, of anyone. Unless I give them hold money, of course.

Nope. It's yours unless you say that you don't want it.

Trucks need Tie down Hooks on the side of the Bed to tie down things.
When I bought the 86 back in 2014, there were 3 originally down ea side, probably an option when new. I think one or two were missing as when they were installed, a hole was Drilled into the sheet metal and a sheet metal screw held them on. Then over the years the bare untreated metal (in the hole) rusted till they lost their grip and pulled out.
New one`s are a bit pricy, I found some on trucks at PNP.

I came up with a creative way to redo them. removed them off the bed. Then used a Chalk line snapped a line, and then added 2 more so I had 5 down ea side.
With a extra long 1/4" drill Bit and a line level on the drill, drilled a hole straight through the bed to the inside.
On the inside used a 1 1/8" Hole saw and cut a hole.
Treated the bare metal with POR,
Then used Stain less Screws, a fender Washer and a 1/4"Ny-lock Nut to secure them.
Used a 1/4" extension and Socket. Stuck the nut in the socket and some stickum on the Socket and carefully got it to thread on.
Now they are secure and can tie anything down with in reason.
What good is a truck if you cant tie down a load?

Remember the Toyota and Datsun PU`s back in the 60 - early 80`s had Bed Hooks? I know on the Datsun/Nissan in 85 they went to the slab sided beds...but you did get 4 little hooks in each corner.

Ok, that`s todays rant.

Since I searched for these Hooks, now I get pop up add`s, and this price gouger on E-Bay has 6 OEM etc... hooks for $450
and has the gaul to add $12 shipping.
I need a seat Belt on my Computer Chair, about fell out of it when I saw this.
