I think you all nailed it!
Today noticed the smell of fuel when sitting at a stoplight. When I popped the hood to mess with something ells today I noticed that my fuel filter housing and filter are wet. If fuel is getting out, I guess air can be getting in.
So whats the culprit here? loose lines? (is that what "Olives" are?) Does that little schrader valve fail?

It can. What's more common is that the o ring that seals the fuel heater starts leaking. The fuel heater is the black plastic thing that's on top of your fuel filter head. You can replace it, but a lot of people remove the heater, tap the hole, and install a pipe plug in there. The fuel heater is at the highest point in the fuel system. Since heat rises, my opinion is that it doesn't do much anyway.

Check where the wire plugs in at the top. That is the fuel heater and they love to leak. It's a little bit of a job to take it apart and put a new seal in it. Or you can clean it up and slather jb weld over it to block it off. I actually took mine all apart and repaired the seal. Then a couple of years later it started leaking again so I did the jb weld. Been fine ever since.

You may need to get some brake cleaner and clean the area up, and then run it a little bit and see if you can see where it's coming from.

Well color me impressed.
Fuel is seeping from the fuel heater on top of the filter housing, just as described.

So, R & R the heater unit? Tap & plug? Or clean it up and JB Weld it? Any other suggestions?

Well you could eliminate the factory filter and put another one, without a heater, in a different location. Some people have done that.
I usually prefer the simplest way. I resealed mine a few years back just for preventative measures. If/when it starts leaking, I'll do the tap and plug method. The only reason that I didn't at that time was that I was in a hurry and thought that the needed plug was smaller than it is so I didn't have one to install.

Epoxy seems like a good bet here. Ive never come across a leak I could say that about, but here it actually makes sense. I bought a tap and plug just in case it doesn’t work….

Glad it was an easy fix.
Just as a heads up, silicone or jb weld may not be a permanent fix.

Here's a more permanent fix, but requires pulling the filter head to do the work.

Silicone probably not. But JB weld seems to have been a permanent fix for me. It's been over 5 years now.
