I am not sure which line to cut. They both appear to be the same diameter. I may have to follow the line from the front passenger to the pump location. I am assuming 3/8 line. Correct me if I’m wrong. Since the line will no have a flair, should I just place 2 hone clamps on the tubing? Or are there better ideas. I will use a relay to power a Holly Red. If I install an oil pressure switch, would I also want a bypass switch for priming purposes?

Supply line is 3/8. Return line is 5/16. Get some small open end wrenches the same size and see which one slips over which line.

When I mess with the plastic lines, I use short pieces of rubber fuel line to splice in. The fuel pump will have hose barbs that fit the rubber line, and then you can slip the original plastic line up inside the new rubber line. You can make the rubber pieces about 6 inches long, and the plastic line will slip all the way up in the rubber line. You can then use two small clamps on the rubber line spaced apart, or you can try one. You have to be careful and not tighten the clamp too tight on the plastic line or you can collapse the line. I have used this method also at the sending unit.

Great. Thanks. Not much difference in fuel line size. I pick up my holly red tomorrow. First I have to get the clutch working (I’ll add another post) and clean the garage floor. Yes my monster truck fits inside my residential garage with the door closed. About 6 inches at back and about 2 ft in front. I love my house. I also found out the center u joint on the rear driveshaft is shot. Lots of movement. I have a spicer waiting for me at Oreilly.

These old trucks seem like they're a never ending project. Then, suddenly, you've fixed what others have neglected in the past and they're just wonderful.

The 5/16 open end wrench will not fit over the 3/8 line. By the way, 5/16 is the same as 8mm. You can use either size wrench.
