Greetings......Am considering an LED headlight upgrade for my '02 F-350 7.3.....I've seen some trucks with very bright LED lights, and I'm likin' it....has anyone done this?....suggestions?

Replacing the stock housings with aftermarket made a world of difference with the stock bulbs. I hate vehicles that obviously have non-DOT lighting and blind every vehicle on the road.

If the headlights are aligned properly, would it then be an issue?

Some led headlight bulbs cannot be adjusted to prevent blinding incoming traffic and still be useful for the driver.

well.....I've decided to keep my original, factory headlights...they're bright enough...(greenskeeper got me thinkin')....however, my original, factory back-up lights are lacking in brightness and dispersion....so....I'll replace them with LED and see what happens.....

Thank you for making that choice, I appreciate it! It makes a huge difference when the whole headlight system is designed and aimed properly. Back when I was young and dumb I lapped that stuff up, but now that I'm older and stunned for a bit by misadjusted or incorrect headlights I've changed my tune. The housings weren't designed for LEDs so they won't shape the light properly. The aftermarket housings are often designed without regard for DOT requirements for beam shape and cutoff and sold with 'for off-road only' somewhere in fine print.
Also, I'm not sure how much it applies to cars but on snowmobiles I've heard the LEDs are brighter but can't 'throw' the light as far. Not sure how that works but some seem to observe it. That could also be due to housing shape. This might not matter for reverse lights; I've noticed those are lacking on just about every vehicle I own. I'll be interested in seeing how well those work for you.
I heard in Germany, even bicycles have to use lights that are certified for proper cutoff, etc.
If you'll excuse me now, I have to go yell at some kids to get off my lawn.

......I got to thinkin' about what greenskeeper said....I don't want to be one of "those" drivers who don't respect fellow motorists....(ya know....like the ones who keep their brights on as you approach)....but you're right about back-up lights....they just don't light up the rear area enough....I plow snow in the winter, and it's hard to see in reverse at 4am during a snowstorm....

I bought the reverse light that mounts on the license plate from headlight revolution. Fairly bright.
But I have it on my car. On a pickup you could easily mount some led cubes/pods.

...good idea.....but I'm thinking it would be easier and cheaper just to replace the reverse-light bulbs......thoughts?

I just don't see a bulb swap helping. The design of the reverse light part of the tail light isn't great.

on my OBS, I spliced 4" (?) PAR35 lamps to the reverse circuit and mounted them on the bumper outside of the tailgate obviously. Don't have a picture but the lamps look similar to these.
