I am open to offers and trades on other types of 3/4 wheelers. A good deer rifle and other stuff? Make me an offer. Things with engines? I went out today and the rust in the corners of the cab wasn't there when there bearings went out. So anyways I would like to see someone use it, since its not...
I thought I attached some, here's a 2nd try. Also the fuel pump is a Carrier Pump, I forgot most people here know what that is. Also I added up all the parts I have into it and I've got about $960 in it. So I'm pretty much giving the truck away with a bunch of new parts. When I first bought it...
Well as luck would have it I spun a rob bearing in Ford. I would much rather see this truck go to someone who knows what it is rather than sell it to someone who just wants a cheap truck to beat up and let get all rusty. Its a 1985 Ford F-250 4x4 extended cab.
Here is what the truck has:
6.9...
Wow, maybe I am luckier than I thought. The day I thought my truck died there was air in the lines. I blead it and got it started but it sounded "like a gasser about to throw a rod" but the noise was coming from the top end. And the engine shakes like hell like its missing on one cylinder. But...
Did it sound like it was in the top end of the engine or the bottom end? Mine did something similar but I have a feeling mines a lot worse off, (just trying to be optimistic)
Last year in the dead of winter before I knew better I had new Autolites last only 3 starts, there was no where to plug it in at my girlfriends place. If you look at the chart for glow plug time for the factory controller in the coldest of cold the factory controller will glow for 14 seconds...
I got a carrier pump (Facet Dura Lift), its great, cheaper than a red too. I fabbed a bracket to mount it right where the old factory water separator used to be. I guess trucks newer though and probably doesn't have the mounting holes there.
Well there's 2 6.9 IDI's within 5 miles from my house. One has a 4 speed, deffinately want that, the guy said the motor started and ran great but it had a lot of blow by. Don't IDI's have more blowby the most other diesels? The other has been parked for sometime and is an automatic, what all...
Its been parked 4 years. It has a new radiator. Still have the original owners manual in the glove box. I'll deffinately start it and run it before buying it.
What years (if any) were turbos standard on the IDI. I have seen some newer vans for sale but the owners don't know much about them...
I thought the motor would give me more of a warning than it did, went from 40 psi to almost nothing. Had a low pressure coolant leak. But nothing major, I had drove it from New Mexico to Michigan in June and it ran great. Really bums me out. Any idea what could have made it go so quick. Is it...
I was driving home from work yesterday and when I went to turn on my road the oil pressure light dropped to just above nothing at idle and i could here some bad engine noise, maybe a really loud valve or a rod or main bearing, sounded like the upper end but really loud. I shut it of as I coasted...
I just got the Bars Pellets, it says to flush the system if its dirty. The anti freeze is clean, only a year old, but the radiator is full of scale. It needs to be done anyways. Whats the best coolant system flush you can buy from CarQuest, Napa etc, I need to pick it up after work today.
Unfortunately a head gasket leak, front lower corner of the passenger side head gasket. I'm really hoping Bars will take care of it. No signs of it being a high pressure coolant leak, so I'm hoping it can be fixed without new head gaskets since I don't have a garage and winter is on the way.
cool, mine has AC. Looked like a tight squeeze. Has anyone tried Permatex Copper Coat, its the same as their high temp copper RTV but in a spray can, makes a thin even coat really easy. I used it on my valley pan gasket and its held up great.
can I use bar stop leak without flushing the cooling system? The radiator is very scaly. If the bars stop leak works, will ceramic coding ceal it pretty permenatly?
Does the blower motor plastic case have to be removed to do the valve cover gaskets? I was barely able to get an open ending wrench on the far back bolt on the cover below the blower motor case. But I'm not sure if I can get a bolt back in there if I were to do the gaskets? What do people here...
What are people using to make a road draft tube? Specifically where the tube enters the valley pan grommet? Will water enter the tube if you go through extremely deep water?
Leave your headlights on before you bring them the batteries? If the voltage is good even if they don't hold a charge they could refuse them. Make sure you bring in batteries that are dead.
